3 SUMMER SKIN SAVERS

Whoever is handling Summer’s PR is doing an incredible job. Because while, yes, there are many things to love—the beaches, the barbecues, drinking rosé on patios, wearing cute dresses, and so on—the season also comes with its own slew of vexations. I’m pretty sure I’ve been responsible for many a mosquito’s hangover, so I can’t offer much in the way of advice on avoiding those, but I can recommend three effective treatments to deliver a checkmate to sweat, oil, and sun damage.

Good Hydration: I like to get Dermaplaning, followed by a HydraFacial, at OVME regularly, but it’s especially essential to deeply exfoliate and cleanse this time of year. Oily skin can still be dehydrated skin, so the boost of moisture helps keep things in balance.

Sexy Back: Wearing less clothing can present a conundrum when perspiration, pollution, and oils from hair create breakouts in places you can’t even see. A back treatment facial by Sydney at Mireille’s Studio gets that area in the clear again, plus the massage is pure bliss.

La Dolce Vita: Anna at Dr. Yates Med Spa recently introduced me to PRX T-33, which may sound like a Star Wars character but is actually an Italian anti-aging treatment. Its application and results are similar to a peel, sans the downtime or photosensitivity. I can attest that it gives skin an immediate plumping and glowing effect, and long-term benefits include reduction of lines and hyperpigmentation and increased collagen regeneration.

Hope you have a beautiful summer. And of course, wear your sunscreen!
